MolenYouth: On May 14th young people are building the future of Molenbeek!

As part of the Molenbeek for Brussels 2030 bid, the youth of Molenbeek invites you to join MolenYouth, which will take place on Wednesday, May 14th, from 2 PM to 6 PM, at the Place Communale of Molenbeek. A festive, engaging, and creative afternoon where sports, art, free expression, and generosity will be on the agenda.

In a context where the narratives circulating about Molenbeek often fuel fear, caricature, and stigma, we choose to show another reality: that of a territory reinventing itself. That of a youth creating its future and its inhabitants who care for one another, collectively imagining other possibilities.

MolenYouth, a free event open to everyone

MolenYouth is much more than an event. It is a key moment where the voices of young people will take center stage and shape a shared vision for 2030. In a friendly atmosphere, they will create spaces for:

  • Move in the sports area with challenges and introductions
  • Express themselves freely on a scheduled stage
  • Create podcasts, make “vlog” edits
  • Participate in the collective and musical mural
  • Claim messages aimed at Europe

Now more than ever, the youth of Molenbeek is the driving force behind the “Molenbeek for Brussels 2030” bid:

“This event is a key moment to amplify the voice of the youngest generation, with the goal of making Molenbeek a reference in culture, inclusion, and generosity, as part of its bid for European Capital of Culture 2030. Without the youth of Molenbeek, Europe has no future.”
— Jan Goossens and Fatima Zibouh, co-mission managers.

An initiative supported by numerous youth organizations

MolenYouth is an event co-created by Molenbeek for Brussels 2030, as well as the ASBL Move, Atlemo, Bien ou Bien ASBL, Bubbletech, the DACM athletics club, the École de cirque, the Foyer des jeunes, Jeugd & Stad (JES), Maison de quartier 80, Maison de quartier Libérateurs, Maison de quartier MQ2, Maison Maritime, Maison Pierron, Maison Heyvaert, the Maison des cultures et de la cohésion sociale (MCCS), Molenzine, Molenbeek Rebels, MQ Heyvaert, the CPAS of Molenbeek, Yume House, and many other partners, in collaboration with the municipality of Molenbeek.
