Cultureghem Festival

Cultureghem is socio-cultural organization that operates on the site of the abattoirs in Anderlecht. They reclaim the public domain and work with local communities to turn this semi-public site into a shared space. In 2023 Cultureghem created a cultural committee made up of local residents and people who activate the site on a daily basis. They come together to cook a meal, play with the children, or shop at the local market. These are no curators or culture buffs, but lived experts from Anderlecht. Together with artists, they have put together the program of the Cultureghem Festival.
